It’s Not about You
People are always trying to
make a name for themselves. We are
always so concerned with our reputations and how other people see and react to
us. This is an example of the sin
of pride and a form of idolatry—as we are seeking to attain something other
than God. If we place ourselves in
the center of our lives, as if everything, and everyone revolves around us,
then God is not in the place of honor in our lives. Living in such a way is destructive to our relationship with
God and with each other.
